Dear Zhao Xue, what are your impressions of Armenia? Do you like the city of Jermuk?
I like natural landscape very much, people are very sincere here, the fruits are perfect and massage is also good. I like Jermuk as there is a good chess atmosphere here.
You always participate in Grand Prix tournaments. Which Grand Prix tournament impressed you more and what was the reason?
The tournament in Nalchik, Russia because I won the tournament.
All Grand Prix tournaments have rather strong participants. What can
you say about the participants of this tournament? Do you think there
are favorites?
I am able to participate in the Women Grand Prix, a tournament where all
players are very powerful. It is difficult to say who is the most
powerful, sometimes result is not the only answer. If I have to choose
one of the players as a favorite, of course I’ll vote for myself.
The results of this type of tournaments play a great role in the
struggle for the world champion. What character traits do you appreciate
in a person? What you wish to see the world champion?
I think integrity and hard work are the most important qualities for
success. A more exciting game, while at the same time, the promotion of
chess in the world. I think professional tennis is the best example of
this approach.
